2004-05 Season SkiReady Conditioning at my new Studio in Summit
County, Colorado - Mountain
Sport Pilates & Fitness
Yes, I'm making the big move to the mountains, and opening up a
studio in beautiful Frisco, Colorado, directly on the way to Breckenridge
and only minutes away from Copper and Keystone, and not far from
Arapahoe Baisin. We'll be open for business in September 2004 and
will have more information in July and August about sign-ups for
various programs.
Inspired by the best practices of Pilates-based training and the
latest research and techniques in Functional Sports Conditioning,
these workshops can be a major addition to your dryland training.
And for the third year, I expect to be taking part in EpicSki
Academy: The 2003 inaugural Academy was a complete success,
with 4 days of ski instruction, boot fit, alignment and ski fitness
presentations, and a lot of great cameraderie, at Brighton Resort,
Utah. In 2004 it was back, gain in Utah, this time at Snowbird.
Planning is underway now for the 2005 Academy.
The EpicSki Academy is a unique concept. The idea was developed
on an internet ski forum, EpicSki.com.
It all started when one day, someone brought up the idea of a ski
academy, that would encompass ski instruction, boot fit and fitness.
And lo and behold, EpicSki Academy was formed. At the first Academy
I led daily warmups, as well as "Apres Ski" stretches. I was the
Presenter for one of the Academy's nightly educational sessions,
where I did alignment analysis, and presented ideas for making your
regular fitness program "ski ready"! I led daily warmups at the
2004 Academy as well. For further information, go to the Academy
Planning
Forum. Then, log on to EpicSki.com and join the conversations
with our fabulous ski pros and fellow skiing enthusiasts!
I teach similar workshops from time to time, at Wellspace
in Cambridge, Mass., which is open to men and women and available
on a per-workshop basis.
In these cutting edge workshops the Reebok Core Board, Stability
Ball, and Urban Rebounder are used. The focus is on strength,
balance, and a strong core for unstable surfaces that are like the
snow cover skied upon. After this workshop you will be ready for
anything nature can throw at you this winter.
For more, read my article on Functional
Sports Conditioning which gives much of the philosophy and research
that goes into this type of workshop.

Fitness forum, I'm there as Lisamarie. Drop by and interact!
